5 Best Things About Friday

It’s Friday, hayyyyyyy. TGIF. The freakin’ weekend. As Rebecca Black says.. “it’s Friday, Friday. Gotta get down on Friday. Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday..”

Sorry about that last reference.

Here are my favorite things about Friday.

1. We Look and Feel Amazing

All week you were on your best behavior. You spent time working on your fitness. You even got to try out some new healthy recipes this week. And now that it’s Friday you get to show off all of your hard work!

2. The ATP

The what?? Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is what our bodies use for energy. Sorry, nerd moment but it was better than saying “I love the energy on Friday’s.”  For real though.. all of your hard work in the past week is converted into energy for the weekend. And the weekend starts on FRIDAY!

3. People are “Ready”

It doesn’t even matter what we are talking about here. No matter one, we are ready. Ready to get the eff out of the office. Ready for a cocktail. Ready to sit on your ass and do nothing. Ready to get dressed up and hit the down with your people. Ready to catch a plane for a weekend vaca. We are all ready for something on Friday.

4. There Are No Rules

What I mean is, the majority of us get to sleep in on Saturday. Friday is the one night of the week where we stop being careful and responsible. I’m not only talking about going out and drinking. Even those who enjoy a Friday night on the couch watching the Notebook let themselves stay up past midnight doing so. See we all follow a certain set of rules whether you realize it or not. But the stress of trying to follow these rules gets to be a lot so when Friday comes we allow ourselves a cheat day. Note to those who have rules all 7 days of the week.. stop that. Give yourself a day to do something you shouldn’t.

5. You Get to Do You for the Next 72 Hours

What you choose to spend your weekend doing is completely up to you. Friday brings 3 days of choices. You can say no or say yes. You can make plan or be spontaneous. Whatever you do, you are choosing to do it because you want to not because you have to. And nothing feels better than doing what YOU want to do.
